This is a great off-road trail that‘s close to Colorado Springs and provides a good challenge to vehicles that are a little more than stock but still offers some fun routes for more built rigs. There‘s also many trails in this area that you can explore that vary in level of difficulty. The drive up to the trail gives you great views of Colorado Springs. The first part of the trail consists of a large hill with rocks you must navigate through. There is a bypass for the first section, but the second area has similar rocks and some switchbacks. Most of the other obstacles have bypasses. There are a few creek crossings and areas that require you to squeeze through skinny spots in the trees. We will meet up at the Chick-fil-A 1620 Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, 80905 at 8:30 and leave for the trail at 9. Communications will be by GRMS radios. Be sure to bring lunch and water.
Join us for a trip to Balanced Rock. Learn about your off road rig, Mile High Jeep Club, and Patrol 21 (The Outlaws). Rear recovery points are required (your stock recovery points are acceptable) and we will be using club radios - we have spares for use.
This will also include the monthly P21 patrol meeting, so come hang out with us and see what we are about.
We‘ll meet in Sedalia at O‘Briens Cafe at 9:00 am for a drivers orientation and then convoy to the trailhead, come early if you want breakfast.
