Trips & Greenhorn Runs

Mile High Jeep club actively encourages members and non-members to get out and go Jeeping. The MHJC Club Calendar always has our latest list of planned runs. We do encourage non-members to reach out to the trip leader before signing up to make sure that the trip is suitable for their interests and equipment. Some of our runs are simple 4x4 offroad trips, and others are active trail maintenance activities.

Preparing for a Run

Most trips will require that you bring a lunch, a full tank of gas, and that your vehicle have front and rear frame mounted tow points. Show up at the meeting point with the intent to leave at the time specified (so be there 15-30 min before the time specified).

The club utilizes a mix of CB, Commercial Radios, and GMRS for jeep to jeep communications. If in doubt about a specific trip reach out to the trip leader and ask what they will be using. More information about the club's radio communications and equipment can be found on the Radio Communications page.

Greenhorn Runs

We do host frequent "Green Horn Runs" which are specifically geared for folks who may be new to the area, or new to 4x4 and offroad. Non-members and those new to the club are encourage to join these trips to learn more and get accustomed to the activity. It's a great way to get to know the club, find a patrol, and see some of the amazing country Colorado has to offer. It's also a way to familiarize yourself with the trail rating system in a low risk way and figure out your personal comfort level.

Check out our current schedule on the MHJC Club Calendar and come join us on the trails!
