About this event

Explore this 27.3-mile out-and-back trail near Georgetown, Colorado. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a popular trail for off-road driving and scenic driving, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are March through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

On this off-road scenic drive, expect incredible views from 13,132-ft. Argentine Pass and top of McClellan Mountain. This route also features historic buildings at Santiago Mine and Ghost Town.

This route is rocky at the start and very narrow at the top of Argentine Pass. You'll follow an old railroad grade to top of McClellan Mountain. Heads up! Snow can block this road well into the summer months. This route requires an high-clearance 4WD vehicle or OHV in order to complete. For current conditions call Clear Creek Ranger District (303) 567-3000

Meet up in at the visitors center in Georgetown at 9 and leave for the trail at 9:30. Be sure to bring plenty of water, lunch, sunscreen and the GRMS
